A production cel from the Marvel Studios animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997). Featuring an emotionally charged fight between Mystique and Rogue, the hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The cel is an actual frame of animation that was created for the season two episode "A Rogue's Tale," which aired on January 8, 1994. After flying out of the hospital window, gripping onto Mystique, Rogue simultaneously battles Miss Marvel in her mind. This image appears to be a scene that was cut due to the imagery becoming too cumbersome. Measuring 10.5"x12.5" overall, with the character image measuring 9"x10", the cel is in very good condition with minor scratches, surface wear, light line fade, and paper transfer stuck to the reverse of the paint from studio storage. The cel has been paired with a reproduction color copy background for display purposes.
